Logging in to GU Web Sites Using Duo

The following steps are for logging in to your application using the "Send me a Push" option, which is recommended by UIS. With this option, Duo sends you a notification (sign-in request) to your mobile device; you just need to approve the request and you'll be logged in to your application. (Click here if you want to log in to your application using a landline phone.)

Notes:

  • Make sure to have your mobile device with you when you log in; you'll need it to approve the login request that Duo will send to your device. Also, make sure your mobile device is connected to the Internet.
  • Make sure push notifications are turned on for the Duo Mobile app on your device.
  1. Go to the GU Web site (e.g., GU Google Apps, Box, Blackboard, GMS) you want to log in to.

(Note:  If you are logging in to an application that doesn't use the Georgetown standard login page, click here for instructions on how to log in to a legacy application using Georgetown Duo.)

  2. Enter your NetID and password. The Duo screen is displayed.
  3. In the Duo screen, click Send me a Push.

Duo displays the following message (highlighted below):

  4. From your mobile device, perform the following:
    1. Tap on the Duo Mobile notification at the top of your mobile device's screen.

      The Duo Mobile app opens.
(Note If you don't see the notification, or if the notification disappears before you clicked on it, iOS users can find the notification by swiping down from the top of their screen, then tapping on Notifications; Android users can just swipe down to view the notification. Tap on the notification once you find it.)

    2. Tap on Approve at the bottom of the following screen:

You should see an Approved confirmation message at the bottom of your screen. You’re now logged in to your application.
