Data and Privacy
Under our current enterprise agreement with Google, content and data used with Georgetown’s provisioned Gemini is not used to train Google’s models. Additionally as Georgetown’s provisioned Gemini is covered by the same confidentiality and data security provisions as other Google Workspace tools, it allows Georgetown Gemini users to meet most privacy and confidentiality expectations, and to comply with privacy and data security regulations commonly applicable to higher education institutions. Gemini can be used with any documents or data that is currently permitted in Google Workspace. For reference on Georgetown’s Data Handling Policies See: UIS.401.3 Data Handling Guidelines. Please note that use of some data with Gemini, such as Protected Health Information (“PHI”) subject to HIPAA, is not currently approved.
