Consultation and Grant Support

Technology Consultation for Projects, Grants, and Contracts

If a research project requires enterprise or customized IT technologies (including access to an AI tool), please contact help@georgetown.edu.

Below are the steps your team should follow if you need a technology consultation

Step 1. The first step in preparing a grant is to contact the Sponsored Programs Departments for the Main Campus, or the Medical Center, or the Law Center.

Step 2. If a research proposal includes information technology, contact the UIS’ Research Technologies team, by submitting a ticket using the following link.

  • The details provided in the ticket will help us review your research requirements in detail.

Step 3. Someone from the UIS team will set up a consultation so we can provide the technical specifications and budgets for your proposal. The attention to accurately describing technology components of research projects improves chances for a competitive grant score, and will demonstrate that the university’s best IT practices and institutional security safeguards are embedded in the grant proposal. Moreover, it will help us determine what level of support, or custom tools, will best suit your research based on the available budget.

Step 4. We will help you connect with the University Information Security Office for help preparing a data security plan for your project and proposal.
