Replacement Process Overview

Once you have joined the Replacement Cycle Program, your department will be put on a regular schedule, which will enable you to find out when you’re due for new computers in your department. As a result, you will be able to plan accordingly, and allocate the necessary funds for your budget.

UIS will automatically contact your department and will manage and organize the information and procedures necessary to successfully complete the process. As a part of this process, we will take care of the ordering, receiving, configuring, and deploying of your new computers. We will also ensure that your old computers are removed and disposed of or recycled properly.

As a part of the configuration process, we will install the latest operating system and the most up-to-date versions of all of the standard Georgetown University applications.

When the replacement process has been completed, we will give you a report with the user names and computer serial numbers that we installed.
We will also offer you the option of setting up a follow-up meeting, so you can let us know if there are any loose ends that need to be taken care of. The meeting would also enable you to present any ideas you might have that we could incorporate into future deployments.
