Update Your Duo Mobile App to Maintain Access to Resources
What is changing?
Duo is ending support for older app versions to improve security and performance. Starting February 2, 2026, versions earlier than 4.85 will no longer receive security updates and are expected to have compatibility issues.
What happens if I don’t update?
After February 2, 2026, when logging in, you may be prompted to use another method of authentication. Be prepared: you will not be able to log in to campus systems using SSO without DUO
Check Your Device – your phone must meet these minimum requirements to support the latest version of Duo Mobile:
- Apple devices: iOS 16.0 or newer (iPhone/iPad: Go to Settings > General > About > iOS Version 16.0 or newer)
- Android devices: Android 12 or newer (Android: Go to Settings > About Phone > Android Version 12 or newer)
Can I still use my current phone? Yes! As long as your phone supports iOS 16.0 (for iPhones) or Android 12 (for Android phones) or newer, you can continue to use it uninterrupted.
I updated my app – what do I do next? Nothing! As long as Duo Mobile is working for UA SSO logins, you’re all set.
