Web and Audio Conferencing

Audio Conferencing with Zoom

Zoom offers phone-only meetings with dial in capabilities (web session not required) and should be used whenever a dial-in audio conference is required. Attendees must call in by phone and cannot use the Zoom app to join.

As of June 2018, Georgetown University no longer contracts with a dedicated service provider specifically for audio conferencing.

Web Conferencing with Zoom

Zoom is a web conferencing tool that provides a platform to conduct live online conferences, presentations, lectures, meetings and group chats.  All Georgetown faculty, staff and students are eligible for licensed Zoom Pro accounts. Faculty can use Zoom in their Canvas courses to schedule conferences with students and hold online office hours. Zoom works on desktop or laptop computers (Windows and Mac), mobile device (iOS and Android), other conferencing systems such as Polycom (H.323), and can connect to anyone internal or external to Georgetown.
