Requesting Zoom Phone
Note: Expect a minimum of a few weeks for Zoom Phone service. If you have an existing GU phone number, that number will be migrated to Zoom Phone.
Request to Migrate a Group
To migrate a group of people (e.g., department, work team) with existing phone numbers, please complete the Zoom Phone Group Claim Workbook. You can also include information about special phone numbers like shared lines, call tree menus, and call queues that your group uses. (Note: In the request, you can include anyone in the group who doesn’t have an existing GU number.)
Please check with your department head, administrator, or DTR whether a request is already in process.
Request for New Zoom Phone Service
To request service for people with no existing GU phone number, contact UIS by emailing help@georgetown.edu. In the request, please include the person’s name, NetID, office location, and any special needs (e.g., physical phone).
After You Submit Your Request
When we validate your request, we’ll add you to the next available group to be migrated. We’ll also notify you of the expected migration schedule.
In addition, we’ll contact you when you’re about to be migrated (most likely the day prior to migration), and will contact you again once you’ve been migrated.

Claiming Your New Zoom Phone Account
Once you’ve been migrated to Zoom Phone, you’ll receive an email from Zoom stating that your phone number (if you had an existing GU phone number) can now be used with Zoom Phone and that you can claim your Zoom Phone account.
To claim your account, just click the button in the Zoom email to log in to Zoom. (IMPORTANT: You must be logged in to the Zoom client on your computer to access and use Zoom Phone. [Click here if you need to install the Zoom client.] )
After you log in to Zoom, click the Phone icon located at the top of your screen to display Zoom Phone and begin setting up your Zoom Phone account.
