Restoring a Previously Deleted File or Folder
As in previous Windows versions, Windows 10 also has a Recycle Bin. The Recycle Bin contains all the items from your computer that you’ve deleted.
There may be times when you delete a file or folder by accident. However, Windows enables you to retrieve (restore) the item from the Recycle Bin.
Note: Emptying your Recycle Bin will permanently delete any items currently in the Recycle Bin. If you empty the Recycle Bin, you will not be able to restore those items.
- Click Open the Recycle Bin by double-clicking the Recycle Bin icon on your Desktop.
A File Explorer windows is displayed showing the Recycle Bin folder. A Recycled Bin Tools ribbon will also be displayed. A - Select all the items you want to restore.
- Click on the Restore the selected items button from the Recycle Bin folder. (If you want to restore all the items in the Recycle Bin, click on the Restore all items button.)
Windows restores the selected items to their original location (where the items were stored when you deleted them).
