Dear Colleagues,

I am excited to share that Doug Little has been promoted to Senior Associate Vice President and Chief Information Officer (CIO).

As the university’s CIO, Doug will lead University Information Services (UIS). In this role, he will drive the ongoing modernization of the university’s technology infrastructure and systems, lead the adoption of emerging technologies, mature support models to ensure prompt and reliable service, and fortify protections against increasingly frequent and sophisticated cyber threats.

Doug joined Georgetown’s School of Nursing & Health Studies (NHS) in January 2011, where he improved technology services, helped launch the university’s first online degree program, and partnered with UIS to implement the GU360 CRM system. In 2018, he transitioned to UIS as Senior Director of Student Systems & Education Technologies, where he played a key role in modernizing our Banner Student Information System and helped to introduce and expand essential platforms like Zoom, Canvas LMS, and Panopto Lecture Capture. His successful leadership led to his promotion to Associate Vice President for Enterprise Systems, where he oversaw critical university systems and helped guide the COVID-19 technical response. Since stepping into the role of Interim CIO in May 2023, Doug has continued to provide strong leadership, ensuring service continuity, process improvement, and strategic planning through a period of transition.

We are thrilled to have Doug as our CIO, and I am confident that Georgetown will greatly benefit from his expertise, leadership, and vision. Please join me in congratulating Doug and wishing him the best in this role.

Sincerely,

Adam Donaldson
Vice President for Strategic Operations & IT
