Phone Service Outage-UPDATE

UPDATE (4/22/24, 1:30PM)—Phone service is now restored. If you continue to experience issues, please contact the Georgetown Service Center.
Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,
We are experiencing a campus-wide telephone service outage for inbound and outbound calls on our CISCO/Avaya systems. Interdepartmental calls within Georgetown University are not affected nor are calls made through Zoom phone.
Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD) is not impacted and can still be reached at (202) 687-4343.
While we work to rectify this outage, you can also email critical departments across campus as needed:
- GUPD: police@georgetown.edu
- Planning and Facilities Management: Submit a facilities request online .
- UIS Help Desk: help@georgetown.edu
- Office of the Chief Operations Officer: coo@georgetown.edu
UIS is investigating the cause of the outage and will provide an update on when phone service can be restored. Updates will be posted on the UIS webpage .
