We are very happy to announce that two UIS Web Services developers, David Dashifen Kees and Reed Piernock, have been selected as President and Secretary, respectively, of the WPCampus Board of Directors.
WPCampus is a community of 1,474 members across 688 institutions (including Georgetown) using WordPress in higher education.
David Dashifen Kees (they/them) is our Senior Full-Stack Developer who focuses on backend development, scripting repetitive tasks, and improvements to our development and deployment processes. They have been a part of the WPCampus organization since 2016, helping to organize and speak at two separate annual conferences; supporting two of their online conferences; chairing its Diversity and Inclusion committee; and assisting in the development of the WP Campus Code of Conduct, the WP Campus DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) statement, and the WP Campus Bylaws.
Reed Piernock (they/them) is our Senior Web Front-End Developer who focuses on developing accessible and usable code, particularly reusable patterns and libraries. They have previously presented at WPCampus conferences on the team’s sprint processes, and on Web Services’ work creating patterns libraries for WordPress themes.
