Register for Virtual TLISI
Friday, August 20 & Monday, August 23

Registration is now open for Georgetown’s annual Teaching, Learning, and Innovation Summer Institute, hosted by the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS). This year, we are excited to connect via Zoom on Friday, August 20 & Monday, August 23

Join us and partners from across Georgetown for a series of panels and workshops to reconnect as a community and prepare for a transition to fall teaching.

Our plenary sessions include:

  • MCEF-CNDLS Town Hall on Returning to Campus with Provost Groves and Dr. Ranit Mishori, Georgetown’s Chief Public Health Officer, who will discuss the guidelines for returning to the Hilltop, as well as the social and emotional challenges of returning to an in-person environment.
  • Reflecting on the Cultural Climate Survey: Pedagogical Challenges and Opportunities with CNDLS’ Inclusive Pedagogy staff, who will present key findings and responses from the spring 2020 climate survey, as well as pedagogical techniques and resources to enrich students’ sense of belonging on campus.
  • Racial Justice in the Curriculum: Promise & Potential for Transformation – featuring Fellows from the Curriculum Transformation Initiative for Racial Justice, who will highlight many of the recent university-wide efforts to create a more culturally relevant set of structures and practices for the Georgetown community.

Tour Your Classroom with CETS

Throughout August, CETS can give you a tour of your classroom and its baseline operations for in-person teaching, including joining Zoom for recording, connecting your own device, and understanding the classroom audio. We strongly encourage you to explore your classroom prior to the start of classes to familiarize yourself with the upgraded environment.

To schedule a classroom tour, email CETS, and if desired, include a request for CNDLS staff to join and discuss best practices in the space. In the meantime, review our checklist for returning to campus as you prepare for the fall.
