Renew Your MATLAB License

When the new license code for the current year is available, you use the new Activation Key to update your software for that year. You can obtain the new Activation Key by performing the following steps:

Note:  The current version of MATLAB requires Mac OS X 10.12 or later. If you have a computer running Mac OS X 10.11 or earlier, contact the Georgetown University Service Center for assistance by going to help.georgetown.edu.

1. Go to the software webstore for students or the software webstore for faculty and staff.
2. Enter your NetID and password, then click Sign In.
3. Click on the link Your Account/Orders (located at the upper right-hand corner of the screen).
4. Scroll until you locate your existing MATLAB order, which should be listed as similar to the following:

1. Click on that order listing. You will see the new Activation Key. Select, copy, and paste the code into MATLAB to update the license.

   Note:  Georgetown’s MATLAB license is only for Georgetown faculty and staff. Students not employed by the university can access MATLAB through one of the UIS computer labs.
