Adding a Facebook Button or Feed

It is possible to install Facebook "Like," "Share," and "Send" buttons as well as Facebook page plugins on your Drupal site.

Like, Share, and Send Buttons

To embed the following Like button on a page of your Drupal site:

  1. Go to https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins.

  2. Go to the "Like Button," "Share Button," or "Send Button" section, depending on which button you would like to install (the example used here is "Like Button"). Click Web.

  3. A new page will appear where you can adjust your settings and generate the code to create your Like button. In the field "URL to Like," enter your Facebook group's URL. Width, Layout, and Action Type can be adjusted based on your preferences, and can be previewed in the box below settings.

    • Click the Get Code button.

  4. A new window will appear with the code for the new button. Either keep this tab open and do the remaining steps in a different tab, or copy and paste the code in a text editor.

  5. In Drupal, go to the page where you would like the Facebook profile to appear. Click New Draft.

  6. Go to the content area where you would like the feed to appear. Click the Source button in the editor toolbar.

  7. Paste the code from step 4 in the location you would like the button to appear on the live page.

  8. Publish and save the page.

  3. When the settings are adjusted to your preferences, click Get Code.

  4. A new window will appear with the code for the new button. Either keep this tab open and do the remaining steps in a different tab, or copy and paste the code in a text editor.

  5. In Drupal, go to the page where you would like the Facebook profile to appear. Click New Draft.

  6. Go to the content area where you would like the feed to appear (left or right callout is recommended; it is also possible to place the feed in the primary or secondary body).

  8. Publish and save the page.
