Georgetown Management System (GMS) Service Advisory, March 10-11
Dear Georgetown Community Members:
The Georgetown Management System (GMS) will be unavailable from Friday, March 10, 2023 at 9 p.m. EDT to Saturday, March 11, 2023 at 5 p.m. EDT in order to implement Workday’s semi-annual system update. The only impact for Georgetown workers will be a temporary inability to access GMS during this outage period. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience, and will post progress updates to the GMS website.
This Workday update will deliver several enhancements to GMS, the most notable of which are the “Inbox Reimagined” and “My Tasks.” These features are an improvement to the navigation experience in GMS. They provide an easier way to find, add and remove applications and shortcuts directly in the menu, as well as an easier method to filter, sort and search for their tasks.
Following the update, please refer to the Workday 2023 R1 Employee Quick Reference Guide for more details about these and other changes. The reference guide will be located on the GMS website under the Training section, which contains detailed explanations of the changes you can expect to find in the new release. If you manage student employees, please ensure that they are aware of this outage and upcoming changes.
