Emergency Phone Maintenance Outage, November 16-17

Dear Members of the Georgetown University Community,
We are writing to inform you that from midnight Thursday, November 16, until 6:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, there will be an emergency campus-wide telephone service outage for all outbound and inbound calls on our Cisco/Avaya systems. Interdepartmental calls within Georgetown University will not be affected. Phones at the Law Center will not be impacted.
If there is an emergency on campus or you otherwise need to reach the Georgetown University Police Department (GUPD) or Georgetown Emergency Response Medical Service (GERMS) between midnight Thursday, November 16, until 6:00 a.m. Friday, November 17, please call 202-295-9019 and 202-384-3358. Alternatively, you may contact GUPD through the mobile safety app LiveSafe.
You also can email critical departments across campus as needed:
- Planning and Facilities Management (PFM): workmanagementcenter@georgetown.edu (please submit work orders on PFM’s website)
- UIS Help Desk: help@georgetown.edu
- Office of the Chief Operating Officer: coo@georgetown.edu
Zoom communications will not be affected by this outage.
