Georgetown AnyConnect is a VPN (Virtual Private Network) that enables secure access to university resources that are hosted within the campus network.

Who is eligible for VPN access?

University faculty and staff, and authorized associates, are eligible to access the VPN to connect to Georgetown network resources.

Are students eligible for VPN access?

Student employees are eligible for Georgetown AnyConnect.

How do I get access to the VPN?

Eligible university account holders can request access to specific network resources by contacting the Georgetown Service Center by going to help.georgetown.edu.

How do I install the Georgetown AnyConnect client?

Instructions for installing Georgetown AnyConnect for Windows computers and for installing Georgetown AnyConnect for Mac computers are available on the UIS Web site.

What can I do if I experience network connectivity problems with other applications when I either connect to or disconnect from Georgetown AnyConnect?

Try restarting any application with which you’re experiencing problems.

Can I get disconnected from Georgetown AnyConnect?

If you shut down (power off) your computer, close your computer for an extended period of time, or if your Internet connection becomes spotty or unreliable, you may get disconnected. If you are disconnected, you can reconnect by logging back in to AnyConnect with your NetID and password.

How do I disable access to Georgetown AnyConnect in advance of my separation from the university?

You don’t need to do anything to disable access to Georgetown AnyConnect if you’re leaving Georgetown. UIS removes all access privileges after Human Resources closes your employment in the HR system.
