Before You Begin
Your mobile device must be one of the following:
- iPhone 3GS or later
- iPad (all versions)
- iPod Touch (3rd generation or later)
Enrolling your iPhone/iPad
Download and install the “MobileIron Mobile@Work Client” app from the Apple App Store to your mobile device.
After the app installation completes, locate the MobileIron app on your home screen and launch it.
If you are prompted to allow MobileIron to send you Push Notifications, please tap “Allow.”
- When prompted, please enter the following details, tapping “Next” after each step to proceed:
- User Name: [Your NetID]
- Server: mdm.georgetown.edu
- Password: [Your NetID password]
If prompted, please allow MobileIron to use your current location. If you ever lose your device, you will be able to use MobileIron to locate, lock, and/or remotely wipe your device, thereby safeguarding your data.
You may receive a notice entitled "Updating Configuration." Please tap "OK" to continue.
MobileIron will download and install a configuration profile on your device. When prompted, tap “Install”. Confirm your enrollment by tapping “Install Now.”
Enter your device passcode if prompted. If your device does not have a passcode, you may be asked to create one.
You will receive a warning that a Root Certificate and a Mobile Device Management feature will be installed on your device. Apple provides this warning to make sure you only enroll your device in a trusted Mobile Device Management service like the one Georgetown University is providing. Please tap “Install.”
Once you see the “Profile Installed” confirmation screen, the process of enrolling your device is complete. Tap “Done” to exit.
Congratulations! Your device is now enrolled in our Mobile Device Management service.
