Printing from your Mobile Device
Mobile printing enables you to print a document from your iOS or Android mobile device. With mobile printing, you won’t need to install any print drivers. In some cases, however, your document will need to be stored locally on your device in order to submit it to the Pharos print queue.
Once your document is in the print queue, you’ll be able to release your document from any Pharos print station.
Mobile Printing Options
The following mobile print options are available:
- Printing with the Pharos Print Mobile App
- Emailing documents to the Pharos print queue
- Upload documents using the Pharos Print Center

- Microsoft Office documents
- Microsoft Outlook
- Images (.jpg, .gif, .gif, .bmp)
- PDF files (.pdf)
- Text files (.csv, .rtf, .txt)
- OpenOffice documents
You can print a document from your iOS or Android cell phone or tablet by submitting the document to the Pharos print queue via the Pharos Print mobile app. You’ll then be able to release your document at any Pharos print station. To get started, just install the Pharos Print app for your device.
Note: You’ll need to be connected to SaxaNet in order to submit a document to the Pharos print queue.
With the Pharos Print app, you can do the following:
- Submit print jobs from your mobile device
- View all the document(s) in your print queue
- Preview your document(s) before you print
- Apply print finishing options before you print
- View available funds for printing
How does Email Printing work?
You can print to any Pharos public printer on campus from your mobile device by emailing your documents to the print queue.
With email printing, you can submit any document to the Pharos print queue by simply emailing your document(s) to firstname.lastname@example.org.
Before you can use Email printing
You must first swipe your GOCard at any print station to activate your account before you can use email printing. You’ll only need to activate your account once.
Once your document is in the print queue
If your document(s) were successfully submitted to the print queue, you’ll receive an email message with the Subject line All of your documents are ready for release. The email message will list your document(s) you emailed. You’ll then be able to release your document(s) at any public printer by swiping your GOCard at that printer.
What if my document(s) aren’t in the print queue?
If you email your document(s) before you first swiped your GOCard to activate your account, your document(s) won’t be submitted to the print queue. You’ll also receive an email message with the subject line Please complete your email registration. This email will contain instructions on how to register for email printing.
To correct this, you’ll need to swipe your GOCard to activate your account and then email the document(s) again to email@example.com.
Note: You must be connected to SaxaNet to log in to and use the Pharos Print Center.
With the Pharos Print Center, you can view (and preview) all the documents in your print queue, as well as modify document print options (color or monochrome, single- or double-sided, number of pages per sheet, and number of copies).
