Hosting Server Access Problems

There are five basic steps that can be taken whenever you are unable to connect to your Web server. Scroll through each step to start troubleshooting your connection problems:

Step 1: Make sure your NetID and password are working properly.

The best way to do this is to attempt to log in to other NetID-enabled systems, such as the following:

If you cannot log onto any of these pages above, please visit this page for instructions on how to reset your NetID password.

If you can log into any of the systems above, but cannot log into your webspace, please proceed to Step 2.

Step 2: Determine whether your web space has been created.

The Georgetown University webmaster will contact you directly with your site’s configuration information when your site has been created.  If you have not received this e-mail, then the process for creating your web space is still in progress.

If you have received this e-mail but misplaced it, please send an email to webservices@georgetown.edu to receive the configuration information again.

If your space has been created, but you are still having problems connecting, please proceed to Step 3.

Step 3: Determine whether your SFTP program settings are correct.
