Training at Georgetown

What do we offer?
Georgetown offers training in multimedia development, Web design and HTML, desktop publishing, statistical programs, and the most commonly used software applications and operating systems.

Who is eligible?
Most classes are available free of charge to all Main Campus, Law Center, and Medical Center faculty, staff, and degree-seeking students and to MedStar faculty.

MedStar employees who are not faculty may attend for a $20 fee per class. For more information, see the UIS Training Policies.

No-show policy
If you are unable to attend a class, you must notify UIS within 48 hours of the class or you will be given a computer generated "strike." People with 3 strikes in one semester will be charged a $20 no-show fee. For more information, see the UIS Training Policies.

Who offers classes?
University Information Services offers classes in the latest
technologies, including word processing applications, spreadsheets, statistical programs, Web development, and operating systems.

Joseph Mark Lauinger Library provides courses in
multimedia development and research tools and resources.

Dahlgren Memorial Library is offering workshops to be held in the Biomedical Academic Computing Center (BACC), located on the lower level of Dahlgren Memorial Library (DML). Workshops are for the faculty, staff, and students of Georgetown University Medical Center, Georgetown University, and Georgetown University Hospital.

Additional Training Resources
