All other services are billed to your PAETEC account. Statements are posted monthly on the Web. See the Billing page for more information and payment terms. Service Descriptions All residence hall rooms and apartments have one active phone line with campus and local telephone service. Your phone line will be ready to use when you move in, but you will need to provide your own telephone set. In apartments, bedrooms and the common area each have one active phone jack. In residence halls, only one phone jack is active. Your phone number was mailed to your permanent address along with your Georgetown address and mailbox information. You can also look up your telephone number in the automated directory by dialing 4-HOYA (4-4692) from a campus phone or by checking your Housing-at-a-Glance page. Basic phone service includes a single phone line for the entire residence with unlimited calling on campus and to the local Washington, DC calling area. Even though you must use your Personal Billing Number (PBN) to complete any off-campus call, you will not be charged for local or toll free (800/888/877) calls. If you do not already have and PBN, you can request one from PAETEC Campuslink at http://campuslink.paetec.com.
Additional phone lines are not available for apartments or residence halls. If you need a separate phone line or number, we encourage you to sign up for a mobile phone service. PAETEC is the long distance provider for the Hoyanet telephone service. To make a long distance call, enter your PBN after you dial the phone number. You can make calls from any residence hall or public courtesy phone on campus. Your PBN will route the charges to your own account. You can also use your PAETEC account as a calling card to make calls when you are away from campus. See the Dialing Instructions for details. If you do not already have a PAETEC account and PBN, you can request one online at http://campuslink.paetec.com. PAETEC's standard e-billing program provides low long distance rates and individual billing based on your PBN. Other rate plans, such as those tailored for students making frequent international calls, are available from PAETEC on their web site at <http://campuslink.paetec.com/> or by calling customer service at 1-800-962-4772 (you can dial *8223 from your dorm line). If you choose not to use PAETEC for long distance calling, you may also use pre-paid or other calling cards. You cannot sign up with another company for long distance telephone service for your campus telephone.
AUDIX voice mail service is available for all residence hall phone lines. You can have a either a shared voice mailbox for all residents on your phone line or private voice mail boxes for each person. Voice mail messages can be retrieved from any phone by calling the AUDIX access number. Voice mail service will be activated within three (3) business days.
Cable television service is available in all residence hall rooms and apartments. A free preview period runs for the first week of the fall semester.
Cable service will be activated within three (3) business days of your subscription request. If you request service for a bedroom, you will also be charged a $25 installation fee. |
