Hoyanet Services: Troubleshooting for Voice Mail
I can't access my voicemail.
Problem: I can't log into my voice mailbox.
- Please allow 2 business days from the time you order voice mail for it to be activated.
- Your initial passcode for voice mail is blank. Just enter # when prompted.
- If you forget or have problems with your voice mail passcode, the student who subscribed for voicemail can bring a GOCard or photo ID to the UIS Service Desk in St. Mary's G-39 to request a passcode reset.
People can't leave messages for me.
Problem: Callers get someone else's voice mail when they call me.
- If callers for you are getting a roommate's private voice mailbox, make sure your main greeting is telling them the correct numbers to press.
- If callers for you are getting a complete stranger's voice mailbox, there may be a programming problem. Call the UIS Student HelpDesk at 202-687-4577 to report it.
Problem: Callers receive a message "Extension not valid."
- This is a phone programming problem (the call is trying to go to voice mail coverage but it is set up incorrectly). Please contact the Student HelpDesk at 202-687-4577 so we can fix it for you.
