How to use Telephones and Voicemail: Changing Your Audix Password
You may change passwords as often as you wish.
- Log in to Audix (if you need help with this, see Logging in to Audix).
- Press 5.
- Press 4.
- Enter your new password (3 to 15 characters long) then press #.
- Enter your new password again, then press #.
Note: Passwords for Main Campus and Medical Center personnel must be at least 3 digits, and passwords for personnel at 2115 Wisconsin Ave. must be at least 5 digits.
Do not use as a password:
- Ascending or descending digits like 1234 or 4321.
- The same digits (e.g., 0000).
- Your name or initials (e.g., 5646 for John).
- The current year (e.g., 1999).
- Your extension (e.g., ext. 73455, password 73455).
- A reverse extension (e.g., extension 3455, password 5543).
- An identification number such as your social security number, employee ID, or room number.
- Do not put your password on a programmable function key or speed-dial key.
Avoid other obvious passwords and do not put your password on a programmable function key or speed-dial key.
If you forget or lose your password
If you forget or lose your password, you may have it reset by faxing the Voice Service Order (VSO) Request Form to the UIS Service Center at 202-687-1991.
To have another person's mailbox password reset, have the departmental director fax the Voice Service Order (VSO) Request Form to the UIS Service Center at 202-687-1991.
