NetID and Account Information for Recent Alumni

Timing of Account Closures for Alumni

Various technology services accounts for alumni are closed each year after the end of the spring semester. Use the information below to save information before your accounts are closed. UIS cannot retrieve messages or files from accounts after they have been closed. The closure dates for Spring 2011 graduates follows.

Hoyamail Accounts

As an Alumnus of Georgetown University, you will retain your Hoyamail account and be able to continue using the account after graduating. Similarly, your @georgetown.edu e-mail address is yours to keep.

Blackboard

Graduating students have access to Blackboard until June 30, 2011. Please note, however, that instructors can make courses unavailable at any time, so we recommend that you log in to retrieve any needed documents or information as soon as possible after the end of classes.

MyAccess

Graduating students retain the ability to log into MyAccess and view grades, registration history, academic program information, and order transcripts.

GOCard

Meal plans may be used through the evening of Saturday May 14th. Flex Meal Dollars are available for use through Monday, May 23rd. Debit Dollars remain available for an extended period as per GOCard policy. Residence Hall, Yates, Library, Computer Labs, and other building access will remain available through Monday, May 23rd.

Media Adapter Returns

If you borrowed a media adapter, please make sure to return or renew the adapter by May 23, 2011. If you don't return or renew the media adapter by the deadline, you will be charged $100 and a late fee.

The following special hours have been set up at the UIS Service Desk (St. Mary's G-39) for media adapter returns:

  • Saturday, May 14, 11am - 1pm
  • Sunday, May 15, 11am - 1pm
  • Sunday, May 22, 11am - 1pm

DO NOT leave your adapter outside our office if we are not open. If you are unable to return your media adapter either during normal UIS Service Desk hours or during the above hours, you may mail it to us. For details on returning or renewing your media adapter, visit the media adapter returns Web page.

Web Development Accounts

If you have data hosted on a University web server (such as www7.georgetown.edu and www12.georgetown.edu), we recommend that you download and save all of your files as soon as possible. Web space for 2011 graduates will be removed and all data deleted on July 8, 2011. Please note that we are unable to forward any links or URLs you currently have. If needed, you may request extended hosting of your website by emailing webmaster@georgetown.edu.

MSB Technology Services

If you are an MSB student, please visit http://technology.msb.edu/highlights/gradinfo.htm for information regarding closure of MSB technology accounts and services.

GUCalendar

If you used the GUCalendar service, your account will be deactivated and deleted beginning August 1, 2011.

Set Your NetID Hint Question

If you forget your NetID password you can reset your password in HoyasOnline by successfully answering a hint question. Set your hint question in Student Access+ or by registering with the HoyasOnline alumni Web site.

Caution: If you ever reset your NetID password using the hint question, you will temporarily lose access to services other than the HoyasOnline website. This includes Student Access+ and e-mail forwarding changes. See the NetID Office's FAQs for instructions on upgrading your "level of assurance" and restoring access to other services.Other Accounts
