What services are available?
The University currently offers scanning of Scantron test forms for all University faculty. A one-time training session is available for those interested in the scanning service. To arrange for personal one-on-one training for test exams only, please send email to gu-scan@georgetown.edu.
** Effective January 2006, UIS will no longer host the scanning service.
- If you have scanning needs, the scanning station is now located in the Nursing Department, St. Mary's Hall, 2nd floor, room 264A, and is available for use by other departments. You must schedule time to use the scanner by writing to gu-scan@georgetown.edu.
- If you have non-grade-related scanning needs, you can arrange to use the Main Campus Scantron scanners by coordinating with the Registrar's Offices.
- If you have custom evaluations that you want to scan using the scanning stations, software called ScanBook is available/installed for your use, instructions can be found by clicking here: ScanBook. There is no training available for this service
- If you are interested in online testing, consider Online Quiz Creation and Management. KeyQuiz allows you to create online quizzes, which can include a variety of question types and informational slides. The administrative interface for creating quizzes includes a WYSIWYG editor that allows you to apply formatting and upload images. You can also specify whether a question can be answered by users only once, or whether it has to be successfully answered before the user can continue. To take the quiz, users can login with either a Georgetown NetID or they can register for an account. General quiz results are displayed for the administrators and customized reports can be created to suit the needs of the client. For more information, contact keybridge@georgetown.edu.
Please note that you will have limited support for these services and must use the website instructions as your primary source of information.

How do I prepare my tests to be scanned?
When preparing your tests to be scanned, please remember to do the following:
- Make sure that all students complete the form by filling in their name and GOCard Number and mark the "Test Form" box with the appropriate version (A, B, C, or D) of the test. PLEASE NOTE: If there is only one test version, ALL students must fill in "Test Form" letter A, or their tests may not be graded properly.
- Include an answer key with the test results with the appropriate "Test Form" letter shaded. If there is only one version, please fill in letter "A" under "Test Form." Please leave "Exam Number" blank.
- Include a scanning cover sheet with instructions for reporting the tests results.
- Students should mark one answer per question on the form.
- Please ensure that all mistakes are erased completely.
- Please do not mark on any lower portion of the form.
