HOW TO USE WINDOWS XP: PREVENTING A FORGOTTEN PASSWORD (IF YOU ONLY LOG IN TO WINDOWS XP)

If you forget your XP password, you can access your computer with a password reset disk. The password reset disk will allow you to create a new password for your account while retaining your personalized computer settings.

If you forget your password and you do not have a password reset disk, you will need to have a Computer Administrator create a new password for you and you will lose all of your personalized computer settings.

If you are the computer's only Computer Administrator, call your Help Desk. They will send a technician to your desk to reset your password.
