HOW TO USE WINDOWS XP: CHANGING A PASSWORD

Only users with Windows XP Computer Administrator accounts may change other user's passwords.

Read Password Security for help with creating a password.

  1. Click the Start button then click Control Panel.

    Click Start then Control Panel

  2. In the Control Panel, click User Accounts.

    Click User Accounts.

  3. Click your account.

    Click your Account.

  4. Click Change the Password.

    Click Change the Password.

  5. Type a new password, retype the new password to make sure you typed it correctly the first time, then type a password hint to remind you of your password in the future. Click the Change Password button.

    Change your password.

  6. You will go back to the previous window. You can close this window, then the User Accounts window, then the Control Panel.
