How to Use Windows XP: Removing an Old Version of an Antivirus Program

1. Click on the Start button.

 

 

2. The Start menu will open.

 

 

3. Select Control Panel from the menu.

 

4. The Control Panel window will appear.

 

 

5. Select Add or Remove Programs from the menu.

 

6. The Add or Remove Programs window will appear.

 

 

7. Scroll down to the program that you want to remove, Symantec Antivirus or Norton Antivirus.

 

 

8. Select the Remove button.

9. A window will appear asking if you are sure you want to remove the program.

 

 

10. Select the Yes button

11. The program will remove itself.

12. A window appears asking if you want to restart the computer now.

 

 

13. Select the Yes button.

14. The computer will restart and the program is removed.
