WINDOWS VISTA: WHAT IS WINDOWS VISTA?

Windows Vista is the next-generation release of the Windows operating system and the successor to Windows XP. Windows Vista was released in January 2007.

Vista has six different editions and comes with many new and improved features. Among the major new features in Vista are a newly redesigned graphical interface called Aero, which has a translucent "glass-like" effect. Other changes in Vista include a powerful new search function, increased security (e.g., increased data protection and improved data encryption tools), more control over user access, and improvements in how you access, view, and organize your files and folders.
