HOW TO USE WINDOWS 2000: GETTING WINDOWS UPDATES

Note: In order to use the Automatic Updates feature, you may have to install some critical updates on your computer.

  1. Click on the Start button, then on Settings, then on Control Panel.
  1. In the Control Panel, click on Automatic Updates.

  1. Click on the box labeled Keep my computer up to date. 

 

  1. Click on the button labeled Automatically download the updates and install them on the schedule I specify.

 

  1. Set the schedule to Every day, and select a time to download and install the updates. Choose a time when your computer will be on. If you are logged on to the computer when the updates are ready to install, you will have the option to delay the installation until a later time.

 

  1. Click on the OK button.
