How to Use Microsoft AntiSpyware: Installation and Configuration

Credit card fraud and identity theft are increasingly common in the online world.  Rogue programs collectively referred to as spyware and adware can monitor your online activities and send this information to third parties.  In order to practice safe computing, be sure you have an anti-spyware/adware program in addition to your anti-virus client.  In addition to Spybot Search & Destroy, you may choose to use Ad-Aware or Spybot Search & Destroy.

1.  Using an Internet browser, navigate to Download MS Antispyware.

2.  Download the installation file to your desktop.

                                                                                     

3.  Double-click the microsoftantispywareinstall file on your desktop.

 

       

 

4.  This will bring up a new window. Click on the Next button.

 

 

5.  This will bring up the Microsoft Antispyware License Agreement.

 

 

6.  Read the agreement; select I accept the terms in the license agreement, then click on the Next button.

7.  The Installation Folder window will appear.

 

 

8.  Click on the Next button.

9.  This will bring up the Ready to Install Microsoft Antispyware window.

 

 

10.  Click the Install button.

11.  The installation will complete in a few seconds.

12.  A Microsoft Antispyware Installation Complete window will appear.

 

 

13.  Click on the Finish button.
