Before you download or install Symantec AntiVirus on your computer, you may need to uninstall the anti-virus program you are using now.
- If you have a stand-alone version of Symantec's Norton AntiVirus, uninstall it before you proceed.
- If you have Norton AntiVirus 7.x Corporate, you may simply install Symantec AntiVirus 8.1 to upgrade your software.
- If Symantec AntiVirus 8.0 is already installed on your computer, it is not necessary to upgrade to version 8.1. Upgrades were made only to the portion of Symantec that is installed on network servers.
If your computer is connected to the University's network, you can download the Symantec AntiVirus 8.1 installer. Save the installer to your Desktop. For assistance with downloading files, see our instructions for downloading software.
If you're not connected to the network (or you just prefer not to download), you can borrow an installation CD from Hoya Computing. |
