Performing an Unscheduled LiveUpdate

These instructions are for people who are using Windows 95 B or Windows 95 C. If your computer has a different operating system, go to Anti-virus Tools. If you're not sure which operating system you use, go to Checking Your Operating System

If you receive an e-mail warning from UIS that a new virus has been detected, you don't have to wait for your scheduled LiveUpdate to bring your anti-virus protection up to date. You can use Norton AntiVirus 7.6 to run LiveUpdate any time you wish.

  1. Save all unsaved documents and exit all programs running on your computer. You might be prompted to restart your computer when LiveUpdate is finished.

  2. If you have not already done so, open Norton AntiVirus 7.6.

  3. Click the LiveUpdate button.

Click the Live Update button.

  1. Click on the down arrow, then click on Internet.

  2. Click the Next button.

  3. You will be connected to a LiveUpdate server. LiveUpdate will automatically download and install virus protection updates.

Choose Internet, then click Next.

  1. When the LiveUpdate is done, click the Finish button.

Click Finish, and you're done!
