ANTIVIRUS SOFTWARE

Antivirus software manufactured by the Symantec corporation (Symantec AntiVirus and Norton AntiVirus) is provided free of charge to all Georgetown University students, faculty, and staff. We encourage every person at the University to install AntiVirus on their work and home computers.

PROTECTING YOUR COMPUTER

Protecting your computer from information security threats goes beyond installing antivirus software. Setting up your computer to receive automatic security updates,  using strong passwords, and exercising caution with e-mail attachments are a few of the things you can do to prevent infection.

Additional information may be found from the University Information Security Office Web site.
