How to Use Ad-Aware SE: Installation and Configuration

Credit card fraud and identity theft are increasingly common in the online world.  Rogue programs collectively referred to as spyware and adware can monitor your online activities and send your personal information to third parties. In order to practice safe computing, be sure you have an anti-spyware/adware program in addition to your antivirus client. 

With Spybot Search & Destroy, you may also choose to use Spybot Search & Destroy or Microsoft AntiSpyware.

1.  Open your browser and go to the http://www.download.com/3000-8022_4-10698871.html

2.  Download the Ad-Aware 2007 7.0.1.3 installation file.

3.  Double-click the aawsepersonal file.        

 

4.  In the Ad-Aware SE Personal welcome window, click Next.

 

5.  Accept the License Agreement by checking the 'I accept the license agreement' box, and clicking Next.

 

6.  In the Destination Location window, click Next.

 

7.  In the Install to All Users menu window, select Anyone who uses this computer, and click Next. 

 

8.  In the Start Installation window, click Next.

 

9. In the Ad-Aware SE Personal window; if selected, uncheck Perform a full system scan now; Update definition file now; and Open the help file now.

10.  Click on the Finish button.
