Basic Secure Computing

If you do not work with confidential data, a secure computer is appropriate for your business needs. A secure computer is any desktop or laptop that is equipped with the Microsoft Windows XP operating system or higher, and designed to fit the University Information Security Office?s security requirements (the word security requirements will link to the requirements document). All computers purchased in 2009 and thereafter can have an encrypted hard drive included with it. The encryption does not have to be turned on but, it must be turned on if the user's role changes to include work with confidential data. This computer can be used for day-to-day business tasks that do not involve working with confidential data.
