UIS Tip of the Week: Checking Quota on a Mail Folder in Thunderbird

You're scrambling to finish a very important grant application. Your co-worker is about to send you a big spreadsheet that you must include by the end of the day. Is there enough room in your mailbox? Are you sure?

You can always use the online GUMail tools to check your quota, but I use Thunderbird and I have a faster way to check.

(Of course, GUShare will soon be available to faculty and staff. When that happens, you might not have this problem at all. Watch this column for tips on GUShare!)

 

Checking the Quota on a Mail Folder

1. Right-click on a folder. (Note:  You have to open the folder first.)
2. Click on Properties.
3. Click on the Quota tab to view your usage.
