UIS Tip of the Week: Aligning Objects in a PowerPoint Slide

I needed to line up a number of objects in one of my slides. I tried to line them up myself, but that was so not going well at all. But I found that there's a way to do this automatically.

In PowerPoint, you can automatically place or align objects evenly with other objects in a slide (without using a guide or grid----or even your eyeballs!).

To align objects in a slide, do the following:

  1. Select all the objects you want to align or distribute by clicking on them while holding down the Ctrl key.

  1. Click on the Draw button at the bottom left of your PowerPoint screen.
  2. Select Align or Distribute from the menu.
  3. Select an alignment or distribution option from the list of choices.

click the draw button, select align or distribute, then select an option

The objects you selected will be aligned or distributed automatically.

objects are now aligned or distributed
