Technology Guides Guide to UNIX Computing (pdf file) The Guide to UNIX Computing is an introduction to text editing, e-mail, Web browsing, file transfer, chat, and newsgroup functions. Introduction to Campus Technology (pdf file) The Introduction to Campus Technology, distributed at New Employee Orientation, is a primer on Georgetown University's basic techology and telecommunications services. A Faculty Guide to Technology for Teaching and Research at Georgetown University The Faculty Guide to Technology, published by the Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS), is distributed at New Faculty Orientation. It contains information on using technology in teaching and research. E-ssentials: The Student's Guide to Technology at Georgetown University and E-ssentials, a joint publication of UIS, the Georgetown University Library, and Dahlgren Memorial Library, is primarily distributed at new student orientations. Throughout the academic year, E-ssentials is available from the UIS Service Desk in G-39 St. Mary's Hall, Lauinger Library, Blommer Science Library, and Dahlgren Memorial Library.
UIS Reports and Plans UIS Annual Report (pdf file) The Annual Report provides the Georgetown Main Campus and Medical Center communities with summaries of key information services activities and current strategic initiatives. UIS Strategic Goals FY 2007-11----Presentation (pdf file) The Strategic Goals FY 2007-11 is a forward-looking five-year strategic plan for Georgetown's technology services. This web site contains prior annual reports, UIS technology planning documents, and past news articles related to technology at Georgetown. |
