CNDLS Teaching, Learning & Technology Summer Institute Monday, May 24 to Friday, May 28, 2004 Vartan Akchyan
The Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS) is inviting Georgetown University faculty, staff, and graduate students to participate in the Tenth Annual Teaching, Learning and Technology Summer Institute (TLTSI) that will commence on Monday, May 24, 2004. This five-day institute (Monday, May 24 to Friday, May 28) is an intensive learning and professional growth opportunity that pioneers pedagogy and technical skills to faculty, staff, and graduate students at Georgetown University's Main Campus, Medical Center, and Law Center.
This year’s TLTSI consists of ten Thematic Seminars meeting multiple times throughout the week to allow for in-depth study and a larger selection of Afternoon Workshops, which provide an introduction to a wide variety of pedagogical and technological topics. Participants may register for one Thematic Seminar and several Afternoon Workshops or may choose to register for afternoon workshops only. TLTSI is designed flexibly so that participants can take part in a combination of multi-day seminars and hands-on workshops.
There are two types of thematic seminars at the TLTSI: Applied Practice Seminars, which focus on practical applications of technology and theory to teaching and learning and Skills Seminars, which focus on the development of technological skills as an aid to teaching and research. Enrollment in all thematic seminars and workshops is limited and it is advised to register early.
The following are TLTSI 2004 Thematic topics:
Applied Practice
Skills Seminar
On Monday, May 24 and Thursday, May 27, TLTSI participants will join for plenary lunches in Copley Formal Lounge. For more information on TLTSI and for registration information, please visit the TLTSI website.
TLTSI is a collaborative effort by CNDLS and our partners. Partners this year include the Center for Social Justice Research, Teaching & Service; Dahlgren Memorial Library; the Georgetown University Writing Program; the Internet Development Group of UIS; Lauinger Library; and the Office of the Provost.
See you at the Tenth Annual TLTSI in May 2004!
