Yearly UIS Survey Each year, UIS distributes a survey to help us align our services with your needs. Please give us your feedback sometime in the next month by taking the online survey at http://keyform.georgetown.edu/form.cfm?FormID=264. We estimate that it will take only ten minutes to complete the survey.
GroupWise and GUSUN Forwarding to be Turned Off Automatic e-mail forwarding for old GroupWise and GUSUN e-mail addresses will be turned off on June 30, 2003. Forwarding will only be turned off for former GroupWise and GUSUN e-mail users at the Main Campus and GUMC. Current GroupWise users at the School of Business and Georgetown Hospital will not be affected.
After June 30, all messages sent to GroupWise and GUSUN addresses will be returned to the sender, so remember to remove them from your e-mail forwarding. Go to http://netid.georgetown.edu/ and click Review or Change Your E-mail Routing.
Fiber Media Adapters due Monday May 19, 2003 by 5:00 p.m. Students who live in New South, Harbin, Village A, Village B, or Nevils borrow fiber media adapters from UIS to connect their computers to the Georgetown network. If you have borrowed an adapter, you must return it, the accompanying orange cord, and the power adapter, in working order, no later than 5:00 p.m. on Monday, May 19, 2003. Return your adapter to the UIS Service Desk in G39 St. Mary's Hall during our hours of operation. Until May 9. the Service Desk will operate Monday through Thursday 9:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., Friday 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. After May 9, we will be open from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday and Tuesday and 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday through Friday.
All students who borrowed adapters this year received an e-mail reminder last week. Please double-check that the media adapter number on the bottom of the adapter matches the number in your e-mail reminder. If the numbers do not match, make sure that you have not switched with a roommate or friend at some point in the year. Failure to return the specific adapter we have given you will result in a charge.
If you are staying on campus during the summer in a dorm where media adapters are needed, you may renew your adapter at https://data.georgetown.edu/uis/resnet/ma. Seniors may not renew their adapters. If you have any questions, please contact us at (202) 687-4577 or techhelp@georgetown.edu or stop by the Service Desk.
Returning Unused Telephones Unused telephones cost your department and UIS money. If a person leaves your department, call the UIS Help Desk. The Help Desk will dispatch a technician to come pick up unused telephones at your office. When you return the unused phones, they will be removed from your phone bill and we can issue them to new employees.
