University NetID Services: About the Directory

Directory information is available in a number of different venues:

  • online directory,
    http://contact.georgetown.edu/
  • Printed Georgetown University telephone book
  • Telephone operators for both University and Hospital
  • US and campus mail distibution systems for both University and Hospital
  • GUMail address book.

Information for faculty and staff in this system is updated by a network of 200 directory coordinators on the Main, Law, and Medical Center campuses as well as at the Georgetown University Hospital. Directory coordinators are encouraged to make updates to the system throughtout the year to keep the online directory and telephone operator system as up to date as possible. Particular attention is paid to contact information in August and September in preparation for the printing of the University's telephone directory.

Directory information for students is fed from the Student Information System (SIS). If you are a student and wish to change your information, please contact your registrar's office. Students have the right to invoke their "Buckley" rights to non-disclosure under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). This causes an individual not to appear in the online directory, GUMail address book, etc. Students can invoke, or revoke, these rights by visiting their registrar's office.
