Follow these steps to access your GUMail Faculty/Staff account with a Windows Mobile 5 Standard device (no touchscreen). If your device has a touch screen, use the Windows Mobile 5 Professional instructions.

On the main screen, click Start then Messaging

Select New Account...

For Your e-mail provider, move left twice to select Other (POP3/IMAP). Select Next.

Enter your name in the Your name field and enter your e-mail address in the E-mail address field. Uncheck the Automatic setup checkbox. Select Next

In the User name and Password fields enter your NetID and NetID password. Check the Save password checkbox. Select Next.

Change the Server type to IMAP4. In the Account name field enter GUMail or another descriptive name. Change Network to The Internet. Select Next.

In the Incoming Server field, enter gumail.georgetown.edu.
Check the Require SSL connection checkbox. In the Outgoing Server field enter smtp.georgetown.edu:587. Check the Outgoing server requires authentication checkbox. Select Next.

Set your preferences for how many messages you want to download automatically and how much. Select Next.

Set your preference for how often you want to automatically check for new messages. Select Next.

Click Finish.

Confirm whether you would like to immediately download mail for your new account.
