Tips and Tricks

Is my device a Windows Mobile Smartphone or Pocket PC Phone?

Smartphones and Pocket PC phones work slightly differently. When setting up your new device or downloading add-on software, it is important to know which version of the Windows Mobile operating system is installed on your device.

Pocket PC Phones come with a stylus that you can use to touch the screen. Also, on Pocket PC phones, the Windows flag logo appears on the top left of the home screen.

Smartphones do not have a touchscreen or stylus, and, on the home screen, the Windows flag logo appears on the bottom left of the home screen. Smartphones can have either QWERTY keyboards or 12-key keypad.
