Before You Begin

Before you can setup GUMail on your BlackBerry, you will need the following:

  • An account on the GUMail Faculty/Staff system
  • Any BlackBerry device
  • Device must be located in a full-coverage service area

Notes:

  • Screenshots were taken with a BlackBerry 8700 device on the T'Mobile network.
  • If you are using a later device that has a trackball (i.e. BlackBerry Curve, Pearl or 8800 series), substitute instances of 'click-wheel' for 'trackball'.

  1. On the BlackBerry, open up Set up Internet E-mail.

  2. This will launch a Web browser. If this is the first time you are using the Web browser, make sure to select your proper timezone and agree to the terms and conditions when prompted.
  3. Open Email Accounts.

  4. Open Add an Email Account.

  5. In Email address, enter your GUMail e-mail address (i.e. netid@georgetown.edu); in the Password box, enter your NetID password. Select Next.

  6. If you have typed in everything correctly, then you should receive a confirmation message that says 'You have successfully configured access to: netid@georgetown.edu'. Click OK.
