GU Apps: Configuring Windows Mobile 5 Professional for GUMail
Follow these steps to access your GUMail account with a Windows Mobile 5 Professional device (with touchscreen). If your device does not have a touch screen, use the Windows Mobile 5 Standard instructions.

On the main screen, tap Start > Messaging

Tap Menu > Tools > New Account...

In the Enter e-mail address box, enter your @georgetown.edu e-mail address, then tap Next

Tap Next to skip the automatic configuration

In the User Information fields, enter the following information, then tap Next: - Your name: enter your name as you want it to appear on outgoing messages - User name: Your NetID - Password: Your NetID Password - Check the Save password checkbox

In the Account Information fields, enter the following information, then tap Next: - Account type: IMAP4 - Name: enter "GUMail" or another descriptive name

In the Server Information fields, enter the following information, then tap Options: - Incoming mail: - If you are a faculty or staff member, type gumail.georgetown.edu - If you are a student, type imap.georgetown.edu - Outgoing mail: smtp.georgetown.edu:587

If you want, set an interval for the device to automatically connect and check for mail. This may deplete your battery more quickly.

Check the Require SSL connection and Outgoing mail requires authentication boxes. If you want, check the box to "Only display messages from the last X days" and set the desired number of days. Tap Next.

Tap Finish. If prompted, choose Yes or No for downloading mail now.
