UIS H1N1 Resources Gushare: Uploading Files

To easily and quickly transfer a large number of files and folders to GUShare from your computer, see Uploading a Large Number of Files and Folders).

  • GUShare will automatically change the date on any files or folders you upload. One way to correct this is to rename the file or folder to include the date you want to keep. So, for example, if you upload a file named 'myfile' on April 2nd that was last modified on March 31, you can rename the file 'myfile0331' before you upload it (GUShare will change the date to April 2nd).

  1. Go to the location in which you want to upload your file(s).
  1. Click on the Upload button located in the button bar.
  1. In the Number of files to upload drop-down list, select the number of files you want to upload. By default, you can upload one file, but you can upload as many as 20 files at a time.

Note:  If the number you need does not appear on the list of choices, just select the next largest number. For example, if you need to upload 12 files, select 15.

  1. Type in the full path and name of the file(s) you want to upload, or click on the Browse button to locate the file.
  1. If you clicked Browse, select the file from the File Upload window, and then click on the Open button.
  1. Select the option to overwrite the file if a previous version of the file already exists. (If you don't select this option, GUShare will rename the version of the file you're uploading. You can turn on versioning if you need to have multiple copies of a file.)
  1. Click Ok to upload the file. You'll see the file listed in the folder to which you uploaded it.
