How to Use GUShare: Uploading Files
You can add files either from your computer or from any other GUShare folder to which you have access.
GUShare offers two method of uploading files: Basic and Advanced. With the Basic method, you upload files one at a time; with the Advanced method, you can "drag and drop" one or multiple files, as well as folders, into GUShare at a time.
If you have only a few files to upload, you can use the Basic file upload method. However, if you have a large number of files (or any folders) to upload, you should use the Advanced file upload method.
Notes:
- To easily and quickly transfer a large number of files and folders to GUShare from your computer, see Uploading Files Using the Advanced Method).
- GUShare will automatically change the date on any files or folders you upload. One way to correct this is to rename the file or folder to include the date you want to keep. So, for example, if you upload a file named 'myfile' on April 2nd that was last modified on March 31, you can rename the file 'myfile0331' before you upload it (GUShare will change the date to April 2nd).
- In GUShare, navigate to the location where you want to upload your file(s).
- Click on the Upload button.

- On the next page, select either Basic Upload or Advanced Upload. For instructions on each upload method, please see either Uploading Files Using the Basic Method or Uploading Files Using the Advanced Method.
Uploading Files Using the Basic Method
Note: GUShare displays the Basic Upload section by default.
- On the Upload File page, click on the Browse button.

- From the Finder (Mac) or Windows Explorer (Windows) window that is displayed, navigate to where the file you want to upload is located, and then select that file. Click on the Open button once you've selected the file.
The file you selected will appear in the upload area, as shown in the example below.

- You can add another file by clicking on the Add File button.

A new blank file upload entry line will be displayed.

- Repeat steps 1 through 3 until you've added all the files you want to upload. (In the following example, multiple files have been added.)
Note: If you need to upload a lot of files at once, you may want to instead upload files using the Advanced Upload method.

- If you want to remove any file from your upload list, click on the X to the right of that file. (Note: Deleting a file from the upload list does not delete the file from your computer.)

- Select the option to overwrite the file if a previous version of the file already exists. (If you don't select this option, GUShare will rename the version of the file you're uploading. You can instead turn on versioning for a file if you need to maintain multiple copies of a file.)
- Click on the Start Upload button to start the upload process.
After a few seconds, you will be returned to the file and folder listing. If the upload was successful, you should see a confirmation message, and the files you uploaded should be displayed, similar to the example shown below.

Uploading Files Using the Advanced Method

- Click on the Submit button.
GUShare begins the process of uploading the files.

After a few moments, the items will be displayed in your file and folder listing, as shown in the example below. (In this example, the folder "Pop Up Block" has been uploaded successfully.)
