How to Use Hoyamail: Changing Your Reply Address to Be NetID@georgetown.edu

When you send a message, netid@hoyamail.georgetown.edu appears as the "From" or "Reply To" address in the recipient's e-mail client. You can change this so that messages you send will display the return address as netid@georgetown.edu.

  1. Log into Hoyamail.

  2. In Hoyamail, click on the gear-shaped icon displayed, and then select Mail settings from the drop-down list.

  3. In Settings, click on the Accounts tab.

  4. In Accounts, click on the link Add another email address you own.

  5. In the pop-up window, enter your e-mail address (netid@georgetown.edu), and then click on the Next Step button. (Note: Be sure to enter your NetID, not "netid", in the e-mail address.)

  6. Click on the Send Verification button to have Hoyamail begin the verification process.

  7. Open the e-mail you received.

The content of the e-mail message should be similar to the following:

  8. Complete the instructions in the e-mail you received by doing either of the following:
    • Enter the verification code you received in the Hoyamail pop-up window, and then click on the Verify button.

    • Click on the link provided in the verification mail to confirm your request.

After you click on the link, you may see a confirmation message similar to the following:

Now when you send mail from Hoyamail, you can have the Reply-To and From address appear as netid@georgetown.edu ("sdr28@georgetown.edu" in the example below).
